Chris Stapleton Concert Tour

Stapleton was born right around the time that rock ‘n roll and country music were deviating from their traditional paths. Long hair became a signature trait of both popular genres, although country music superstars typically group from their beard, while rock ‘n roller grew out their locks. These days, Stapleton is a throwback to that era, as he has continued to grow out both his hair and his beard while making his way toward writing 200 songs throughout his career. Although putting a country music song together isn’t exactly rocket science, it does involve serious musical knowledge and a feel for what is ringing the registers at the time.

Born in Lexington, Kentucky in mid-April 1978, Stapleton made his way to Nashville as a 23-year-old, which essentially a prerequisite for any up-and-coming country music hopeful. If you can make it in Nashville, the idea is that you can make it anywhere. A decade later, Stapleton had the pleasure of performing at the Grand Ole Opry.

The performance was essentially the beginning of his career, and when he released his inaugural studio album entitled Traveller in early-May of 2015, it immediately shot to the top of the US Country and overall US Billboard Charts. A release on the exact same calendar day two years later did very well, registering at #1 on the US Country charts and reaching Number one overall on the Canadian Charts, while ranking as high as #2 on the US Billboard Charts. Similar returns came through on a third studio album release, which dropped on the first day of December in 2017.

The best way to reveal the specifics of each of these upcoming tour dates is to go piece by piece. It all begins with a March 11 show in Corpus Christi, Texas. Chris Stapleton will be the headlining act, after Jamie Johnson & Yola take to the stage to warm up the crowd. The same lineup is scheduled for a concert on the following evening in Austin, Texas.

By the time the tour makes its way to Arlington for a performance on March 14, it will be joined by Willie Nelson & Family. The Wilson-led band is a historically reputable and successful touring group that has seen and done it all over the course of several decades. For Stapleton to be joined by Willie Nelson is a really big deal, and it will happen once again during the grand finale in Lexington, Kentucky on the evening of April 25.

On the three concert dates in between, Stapleton will be joined by The Marcus King Band & Yola. These include performances in Biloxi, Mississippi on March 20, Birmingham, Alabama on the following evening and Columbus, Ohio on the evening of April 23.

The Marcus King Band was formed in 2013 Greenville, South Carolina. Categorized in several blues rock and southern rock genres, they have gained attention throughout the South. The straw who stirs the drink is Marcus King, who has proudly named the band after himself, as a handful of country music artists have done in past years.

Jamie Johnson will be the oldest person on tour when Willie Nelson is not involved. The man in his mid-40s born in enterprise, Alabama has been a singer and songwriter for the better part of the last decade and a half, and he will certainly seize his opportunities to thrill audiences in advance of Chris Stapleton taking the stage.

Then, there’s the great Willie Nelson. The man who has been writing and bringing iconic country music songs to life for the last half-century has achieved so many things in music. Gone are the days when his lifestyle was frowned upon by a judgmental portion of American society, as his signature recreation is now legal in many states.

Willie Nelson is ageless, but he could also be nearing his final years of performing. It is perfectly reasonable to see Willie Nelson performing well into his 90s, which would be a first for a legitimate living country music legend. Willie is scheduled to join Stapleton for shows in Arlington, Texas on March 14, and the finale in Lexington, Kentucky on April 25. All fans interested in securing Chris Stapleton 2020 Tour Tickets featuring Willie Nelson can easily do so now.
