Phish recently announced a sizable 2019 Summer Tour, sending their tens of millions of fans into an instant online digital, handheld search for tickets. Everyone interested in securing seats for what are sure to be coveted shows can easily do so now. The run begins on June 11, and is currently scheduled to conclude on the first day of September. Phish 2019 Tickets are available to the general public.

Phishy Beginnings

The band was formed in Burlington, Vermont in 1983. Trey Anastasio was attending the University of Vermont, along with Jeff Holdsworth, Jon Fishman and Mike Gordon. The early-80s were a time in which music was exploding, but alternative rock had yet to actually be defined. The band essentially had a large gestation period for a handful of years while hair bands and high-octane rock took center stage. Their self-entitled album was released in 1986, but it was not until 1992’s A Picture of Nectar that they truly caught the imagination of fans throughout North America.

Soon thereafter, Phish bumper stickers featuring the iconic logo created with the color spectrum adorned bumpers of 4 x 4’s from California to Florida. Attending Phish concerts was an indoctrination to concert culture of the 60s and 70s for teenagers in the 90s. Fans often went through the gates full of anticipation and equipped with elements to make the night especially enjoyable. Although things have changed a little bit in terms of these slightly-discrete unspoken standards, Phish concerts are still a total exploration of music and human consciousness.

Phish’s 2019 Summer Tour

Phish really hasn’t taken a break in terms of creativity, having released a studio album every few years since the original 1986 vinyl cut. More recent releases in the last 10 years include 2019’s Joy, Fuego in 2014 and Big Boat in 2016. Phish is known for recording live albums, and they have done so a total of exactly 15 times. There’s a chance that a live album will be recorded on this upcoming tour.

The specifics of the tour will bring joy to fans in a handful of states in the Eastern half of the US. The fun will begin with two shows at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis on June 11 and June 12, before Phish performs as a headlining act at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee on June 14 and June 16.

The end of June will be capped off with three shows at the BB&T Pavilion in Camden, New Jersey on the final three days of the month.
