KISS is an American rock 'n roll band created during the early-1970s. Several bands throughout the year have tried to embrace a stylized approach that adds to their artistry and their creative talents, but none have been able to do so quite like the epic, iconic group that was formed in New York City in 1973.
Their self-entitled debut album came in 1974, and Hotter Than Hell came later that year. By the time they released Dressed to Kill in 1975, their vinyl was spinning on the record players of fans in every corner of North America. They continued to establish their dominance and total fearlessness throughout the late-70s and the entirety of the 80s. During this time, the list of bandmembers changed a bit as creative differences, personal relationships and other things that pop up in top-notch rock 'n roll bands went down.
But they've always maintained their signature look, which includes sharp shoulder pads, extremely high-heeled boots, and flawless face painting. Gene Simmons has long been the front man and the face of the band, and he has always worn "The Demon" makeup. Other themes include “The Star Child,” worn by Paul Stanley, “The Fox,” worn by Eric Carr and “The Catman,” worn by Peter Criss up until 2004, at which point Eric Singer took over. “The Ankh Warrior” face paint was always worn by Vinnie Vincent.
The base of all of these face paintings is "clown white," which is the ivory-white base makeup used by clowns throughout the decades. The band has suited up in these awesome adornments hundreds if not thousands of times, and they only wardrobe problems have occurred when they play in extreme heat. Obvious issues such as sweat causing the makeup to run and the grease around the eyes to crack is dealt with in the peak of summer by simply reapplying the makeup several times throughout each performance during quick backstage visits.
KISS is known for putting on an absolutely amazing live show, and they have toured the world several times throughout the course of their history. You can make an argument that no band has had a greater global influence on the rock 'n roll scene than KISS, who were largely influenced by polar opposites Alice Cooper and The Beatles.
The band recently made announcements involving an upcoming tour that will be their finale. They promised it will be bigger, brighter and better than ever. For folks who have never purchased KISS Concert Tickets in the past, now is the perfect time. For those who have attended several shows over the years, helping the band go out with a bang would be the perfect ribbon to put on their career. The group has not released an album in six years, but they obviously have a huge library of hits to choose from when putting together a set list.
KISS utilized the nationally-televised primetime platform 'America's Got Talent' to announce the upcoming run of shows that will likely extend through the majority of 2019. The run is currently projected to begin in January, although very few specifics have been released as of now.
Kiss can sell out any building in the United States or Canada, which is why they will likely choose to play in some of the biggest. Shows in New York City, Las Vegas, Florida and California are very logical, as the band has gigantic and passionate fan bases in each region ripe with world-class venues in which to stage concerts. For everyone interested in getting in on the final KISS run, now is the perfect time to secure your affordable KISS 2019 Tour Tickets.
