Toronto Blue Jays Information

It is no surprise that the Toronto Blue Jays are once again loaded with talent, and they come into the 2018 campaign hopeful of summiting the mountaintop in the always-competitive American League East. Blue Jays tickets are always popular, and the Rogers Centre is always a comfortable place to enjoy a ballgame. The venue was built in 1989, and originally known as the SkyDome. It was constructed in such a way that – almost 30 years later – it still appears very modern.

The Blue Jays won the World Series in 1992 and 1993, but they have only won the American League East Division one time in the 25 years since. The collection of teams up and down the upper east coast is incredibly competitive and loaded with power hitters and excellent starting pitching. Thus, the Blue Jays Schedule is always a challenging one. In recent years, Blue Jays upper management has gone a long way to ensure that their team is just as competitive as any in professional baseball.

Leading this year squad into battle will be third baseman Josh Donaldson, left fielder Curtis Granderson and first baseman Justin Smoak, among others. Donaldson joined the club a few years ago after some monster years in Oakland, and he’s revamped and retooled his swing since. This is his fourth year as a Blue Jay. His 2017 season was shortened by injury, allowing him to play in only 113 games. He still hit 33 home runs and knocked and 78. If he is healthy this year, there is absolutely reason to believe those numbers could be close to 40 and 120. Donaldson is always a tough out at the plate, and anchors a lineup that is capable of putting up a crooked number in any given evening.

Granderson is an ageless veteran who also has quality at-bats regularly. He’s a good clubhouse guy, and still dangerous on the base paths. Toronto signed him to a one-year $5 million deal in the preseason, luring him away from the Los Angeles Dodgers in a bizarre free-agent off-season market that left many veterans such as Granderson waiting for phone calls. The starting pitching is solid, and the Jays will likely look for opportunities to turn the ball over to their bullpen once the sixth or seventh inning approaches. They inked a few free agent relievers in the off-season that could have an immediate impact.

Whatever the outcome of Toronto Blue Jays games, the action on the immaculate field is always entertaining and exciting. An array of Jays tickets are currently available for immediate purchase and download now.
